Sad Girl Track Club: Fostering Community and Safe Spaces

The Goal

Sad Girl Track Club created a safe space for anyone who wants to share bad days, sadness... or the things that have got on their nerves.

Founded on the believe that 'we all have a sad girl in us', the Sad Girl Track Club has quickly become one of the most engaging clubs on Strava.

Created by Olympic medalist Molly Seidel and her sister Izzy Seidel, Sad Girl Track Club is more than just a club. Founded on racoon memes, the Sad Girl Track Club has become a space that allows people to share their thoughts and feelings without judgment or recrimination. It is a safe space. And it has increasingly become an engaging Club to follow. Strava from across the world openly share what is in their hearts and minds - often with quite humorous results.

Sad Girl Track Club has grown bigger than I could’ve imagined. Strava has provided a safe environment to talk about the ups and downs, from walking boots to winning races and anywhere in between.Izzy Seidel, Sad Girl Track Club Founder

The Sad Girl Track Club has built upon Strava's welcoming and inclusive community to become a mainstay amongst people's most popular clubs, growing massively since its launch. An open forum for user thoughts, Molly and Izzy encourage anyone and everyone to share their opinions, giving the Club a loyal - and highly engaged - audience.
