The Challenge
Visit Jersey challenged Strava users to run 26.2 miles in 26 days for a chance to win a "runcation" in Jersey, including participation in the Standard Chartered Jersey Marathon.
Why Strava
Visit Jersey wanted to advance their lucrative sports tourism audience segment, and to develop their active and wellness products. To do this, they turned to Strava and Sponsored Challenges. With a demonstrable audience of cycling and running enthusiasts, Strava was the perfect place to build awareness with active people, particularly with the huge market penetration within the UK.
Impact
Visit Jersey was delighted with the Sponsored Challenge. With 1.6 million impressions, 2 million miles run, 10,000 conversions and 96% brand recall, the activation clearly raised awareness of Jersey as an active destination among the Strava community. And with a significant increase in marathon runners visiting Jersey and their subsequent spend, the challenge provided a ROI of 10x on the total cost of the activation.
